A3P Calls on Senate Democrats to Denounce Racist Attacks on Judge Barrett’s Adoptions

WASHINGTON, DC — The Article III Project (A3P), which promotes and defends President Trump’s judicial nominees and appointed judges, is calling on Senate Democrats to denounce racist criticisms of Judge Amy Coney Barrett and her husband’s decision to adopt two children from Haiti.

New York Times story this week investigated the adoptions and included this outrageous paragraph:

Detractors have criticized as “white saviorism” the judge’s public accounts of her children’s dire situations before they left Haiti.

Celebrated anti-racist professor at Boston University Ibram Kendi criticized Barrett on Twitter, writing:

“Some White colonizers ‘adopted’ Black children. They ‘civilized’ these ‘savage’ children in the ‘superior’ ways of White people, while using them as props in their lifelong pictures of denial, while cutting the biological parents of these children out of the picture of humanity.”

Not one Senate Democrat has denounced these attacks, including Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), who is an advisory council member for the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute.

“Judge Amy Coney Barrett has had to withstand outrageous and racist attacks on her family for adopting two Black children from Haiti,” said A3P founder and president Mike Davis. “Why won’t Democrats denounce these racist attacks?”
