Article III Project Statement on Judge Arthur Engoron’s Ruling Against President Trump

WASHINGTON — Mike Davis, Founder and President of the Article III Project, issued the following statement after Manhattan Judge Arthur Engoron ruled President Trump must pay over $350 million in civil penalties.

“Predictably, Democrat New York Attorney General Tish James and Manhattan Judge Arthur Engoron—two hyper-partisan Democrat clowns—are attempting to destroy Trump and his businesses.

“This is part of the Democrats’ lawfare and election interference, because they fear voters on November 5, 2024.

“Even before the trial began—before any witness or any other evidence—Engoron decreed Trump (somehow) committed fraud.

“After paying back sophisticated Wall Street banks, in full, on time, with interest, as agreed.

“Then the partisan hack judge ordered the business death sentence.

“These partisan Democrat attorneys, prosecutors, and judges are disgracing themselves, destroying the legal system, and causing grave damage to the ‘democracy’ they pretend they’re protecting.

“If courts want to keep their legitimacy—and funding—the appellate courts must fix this.”

The Article III Project (A3P) was founded by veteran GOP operative and attorney Mike Davis, who, after helping win the Senate confirmation battles of Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, developed the reputation as a “take-no-prisoners conservative eager to challenge the left with hardball tactics,” as reported in The New York Times.

A3P defends constitutionalist judges, punches back on radical assaults on judicial independence (like court-packing) and opposes judicial and other nominees who are outside of the mainstream. Davis previously served as Chief Counsel for Nominations to Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) on the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary and led the Senate confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh and a record number of circuit court judges.
